Marcel Tournier, composer

Sonatine for harp, Op. 30

Marcel Tournier (1879-1951) was a French harpist and composer, one of famed harpist Alphonse Hasselmans’ students in his studio at the Paris Conservatory, and his successor as professor of harp. As a harpist and composer, he wrote music which expanded upon the established techniques for the instrument and broadened its repertoire, and as a teacher, he trained many outstanding students in his 36 years as a professor at the Paris Conservatory.
