Flutist Dora Seres won first prize in the 2005 Young Concert Artists International Auditions. In April 2007, she made her New York concerto debut with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater. Ms. Seres has performed in Boston, Switzerland, Japan, Vienna, and at the Bartók House in Budapest. The Hungarian Culture Center has presented her in concert at Kensington Palace in London, in Stuttgart, and in Helsinki, Tampere and Turku, Finland. She has performed as soloist with the Hungarian Radio Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the MÁV Symphonie Orchestra, and the Filharmonie East-Hungary. She is currently Principal Flutist for the Danish Radio Sinfonietta in Copenhagen.
Born in Szombathely, Hungary in 1980, Ms. Seres graduated from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest in 2002, where she studied with Lóránt Kovács. She studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich with András Adorján from 2002-2004, then returned to Budapest for postgraduate studies at the Franz Liszt Academy. She has worked and performed with celebrated flutist Paula Robison and participated in Master Classes of Emmanuel Pahud, Aurele Nicolet and William Bennett.
